📋 1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Scascan (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information in connection with the UpHabitAi – AI Habit Tracker application (the “App”) available on the Apple App Store. By installing or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

UpHabitAi is an AI-powered habit tracking app that helps you build healthy habits, analyze patterns, and receive personalized insights powered by DeepSeek AI, with optional integration with Apple Health data.

📊 2. Information We Collect

We collect minimal information to operate the App. Here is what we collect and why:

a) Information You Provide Directly

• Onboarding Profile: Your name, age, primary health goal (e.g., sleep better, exercise more), and preferred habits. Used to personalize your experience and tailor AI insights.
• Habit Data: The habits you create, configure, complete, or skip. Stored exclusively in a local SQLite database on your device.

b) Apple Health Data (Optional)

• With your explicit permission, UpHabitAi reads Apple Health metrics including: step count, sleep duration, heart rate, and active energy burned.
• This data is read at the time of habit completion and stored locally on your device. It is never uploaded to any server without your action.
• Health access is fully controlled by you via iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → UpHabitAi.
• UpHabitAi does not send your health or fitness values (such as step counts, heart rate, sleep, or calories) to Firebase Analytics. Analytics records only that you granted or denied health access.

c) Subscription Status

• We store a local flag indicating whether you have an active AI Coach subscription. This is derived from Apple's StoreKit response and cached locally. We do not have access to your billing details.

d) Analytics Data (Firebase Analytics)

• The App uses Firebase Analytics, a product-analytics service provided by Google/Firebase, to understand how the App is used and to improve it. Firebase Analytics records app-interaction events — for example onboarding started and completed, habit created and completed, subscription started and cancelled, health-permission granted and denied, screen views, and app opens — together with technical/diagnostic information needed for analytics, such as app version, device model, operating system version, and approximate region.
• Firebase Analytics does not receive your name, email address, payment details, or the content of your habits, and it does not receive your Apple Health values.
• We do not use Firebase Analytics for advertising, ad targeting, or personalized advertising.
• Anonymous crash and performance diagnostics may also be collected through Apple's built-in TestFlight / App Store analytics where you have opted in on your device.

🎯 3. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used exclusively to:

• Display your habit history, streaks, and statistics within the app.
• Generate personalized AI insights about your habit patterns and health correlations.
• Personalize the AI coach response based on your stated health goal from onboarding.
• Maintain your subscription access status.
• Improve app stability through anonymous crash reports.
• Measure product usage through Firebase Analytics to guide product improvements.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling for third-party marketing, or any purpose beyond operating and improving the App.

We share information with third parties only as described in this policy: summarized, consent-based data with our AI provider (DeepSeek) for AI insights, and anonymous product-interaction data with Firebase Analytics (Google) for product analytics. Consent is requested in-app before the first AI insight is generated and can be revoked at any time from Profile → AI Data Sharing. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone.

🤖 4. AI Insights & DeepSeek API

The AI Coach feature (available to subscribers) uses the DeepSeek AI API to generate personalized insights. Here is exactly what happens when an insight is generated:

• Before anything is sent, we ask for your explicit permission. The first time you use the AI Coach, the app shows a consent prompt that states exactly which data is shared and identifies DeepSeek as the recipient. Data is only transmitted if you tap “I Agree.”
• A summarized snapshot of your last 14 days of habit completions and daily health metrics (steps, sleep, heart rate) is compiled on your device.
• This snapshot is anonymized — it does not include your name, Apple ID, email, or any direct identifier.
• The snapshot is transmitted over an encrypted HTTPS connection to DeepSeek's API servers to generate your insight.
• DeepSeek processes the request and returns the insight text. DeepSeek does not retain your data beyond the API request duration.
• The generated insight is stored locally on your device.
• You can revoke this permission at any time from Profile → AI Data Sharing inside the app. Revoking stops all future data sharing immediately.

📱 5. Data Storage & Security

All your habit data, health data, and AI insights are stored locally on your device using a SQLite database. We do not operate cloud servers or sync your personal data to any remote database controlled by us.

• Data is protected by your device's built-in security (Face ID, Passcode, Secure Enclave).
• Deleting the app from your device removes all stored data permanently.
• You can export your data at any time using the built-in export feature.
• We never have access to data stored on your device.

Analytics events processed by Firebase Analytics are separate from the data stored on your device. They do not include health values, your name, or other personal identifiers.

💳 6. Subscriptions & Payments

The AI Coach feature requires an active subscription. All subscription purchases, renewals, and billing are handled entirely by Apple via the App Store.

• We never receive, store, or process your payment card details.
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
• Manage or cancel your subscription at: App Store → Your Name → Subscriptions → UpHabitAi
• Available plans: Weekly ($1.99/week), Monthly ($4.99/month), Yearly ($34.99/year). Prices may vary by region.

🔗 7. Third-Party Services

UpHabitAi integrates with the following third-party services:

Equal protection guarantee: DeepSeek provides the same or equal protection of your data as described in this policy. Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS, processed solely to generate your insight, and is not retained beyond the duration of the API request. We share data with DeepSeek only with your explicit, revocable consent — no data is sent before you agree in-app.

Firebase Analytics: Firebase Analytics is used solely for product analytics and app improvement, as described in Section 2(d). It is processed by Google in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy and Firebase's privacy and security documentation. Health/fitness values are never included in analytics events.

You can control data collection where supported through your device and Apple account settings — for example iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, and Apple's App Privacy Report — as well as through the analytics controls offered by Google.

👶 8. Children's Privacy

UpHabitAi is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@scascan.com and we will promptly delete such information.

⚖️ 9. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Because all data is stored locally on your device, you have direct and full control over it. Depending on your location, you may also have additional rights:

• Access & Portability: Export your data anytime using the built-in export feature in the app.
• Deletion: Delete all data by uninstalling the app. Individual habits and insights can be deleted from within the app.
• Revoke Health Access: Go to iOS Settings → Privacy → Health → UpHabitAi to revoke access at any time.
• Subscription Cancellation: Cancel at any time via App Store Settings → Subscriptions.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you may have additional rights under GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

🔄 10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, new features, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will:

• Update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page
• Post the revised policy at this same URL
• Where possible, notify users through an in-app notice

Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
